PRE-MARRIAGE FAQ

How long is pre-marriage coaching?
On average, 6-10 total hours, plus there is an online SYMBIS assessment and a bit of optional “homework” that will help deepen the learning and interaction.  

FYI - Abe is a certified Twogether In Texas (twogetherintexas.com) counselor, so if you live in Texas and complete coaching with Abe you will receive a $60 discount on your marriage license.

How are your classes organized?
On occasion, we offer group coaching with multiple couples, however, most of our coaching is one-on-one with just the two of you and a coach. Sessions may be completed in 3-4 “super sessions” that last about 2 hours or may be 1 hour sessions spread out over several weeks. The latter option is preferred since it gives more time to process the information and gain from the learning. It is best to meet every 10 days to two weeks, but sessions may be modified as needed.

Where will we have our coaching sessions?
Coaching sessions may take place over the phone, online using Zoom or in person if you live in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area. An online scheduler will be available to make appointment times that work best for your schedule.

What curriculum do you offer?
We have experience and are certified facilitators in various curriculum and assessments (ex. SYMBIS, Marriage 101, 5 Love Languages, etc.)  If you are interested in pursuing a specific curriculum, please let us know your preference.  The standard curriculum used is Footsteps, a Twogether in Texas certified curriculum, that Abe and Amy Smith authored. You will also complete the SYMBIS online assessment. SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) is a top rated online relationship assessment.

Common topics addressed include; Communication, Finances, Intimacy, Social Life, Roles and Responsibilities, Future Goals, Religion, and any other topic you desire.

What is the fee for pre-marriage coaching?
The fee for coaching is $347 (MAKE PAYMENT). This includes 6-10 hours of coaching, two copies of the Footsteps curriculum, the $35 online SYMBIS assessment, and a Twogether in Texas certificate of completion (used to receive $60 off your marriage license).
